For Freemasons
We usually meet four times each year for regular workings in the temple at Freemason’s Hall, Great Queen Street in Central London. Usually we meet on the second Thursday in February, April, October and December. Sometimes dates have to be altered if they collide with public holidays (e.g. during the Easter week). Additionally there are private, informal meetings and social functions.
Bretheren from other regular lodges (i.e. lodges which are recognized by the United Grand Lodge of England) are welcome to visit us on one of our next regular meetings. You do not need to speak German to visit our lodge – but be aware that the whole ritual is conducted in this language. The working in the temple is usually follwed by a meal on the festive board to which you are also welcome. We would like to politely remind you that visiting brethren are usualy expected to be responsible for their own dining fees.
If you are interested to visit us, please contact our secretary (address below). Please give your name, address and telephone number, name and number of your lodge and your masonic rank. Please state how and when you would like to be contacted.
For Non-Masons who are interested about masonry („Searchers“)
Our lodge is regularily joined by new bretheren. But we do not actively „recruit“. Traditionally we expect that a new brother – English lodges usually talk about „candidates“ whereas German lodges call them „searchers“ or „Suchende“ – knocks on our door after having made a clear decision out of his own free will.
A candidate has to be a „free man of good standing“, of at least 21 years of age (exception: sons of freemasons may sometimes join at age of 18) who believes in a Supreme Being.
There are no more formal conditions.
But we do expect that a new brother is able to attend our meetings on a regular basis and is also able to pay his membership fees.
As our meetings are conducted in German we also expect a certain familiarity with this language. If you are seriously interested in freemasonry but do not speak German we may be able to find you a different lodge which works in English. Once you are a freemason you will be welcome to visit our meetings as a „visiting brother“.
You find further information on our page „More about Freemasonry.
If you are seriously interested to make contact with us, please send us a letter or an email with your name, address and telephone number (address below). It would also be nice to introduce yourself with a few words. Please state also how and when you would prefer to be contacted.
General and informal Enquiries
Despite certain rumors we are not a „secret society“. In fact we are prepared to talk and discuss openly about many aspects of freemasonry. If you – as a Non-mason are interested in an informal exchange of ideas and thougts and would prefer not to reveal your identity, you are welcome to do so – but keep in mind that we might also choose not to reveal our names either.
Please bear in mind that we do not respond abusive emails.
